ODABA

The DBMS ODABA is an terminology-oriented database management system (TODBMS) on a high conceptual level. This is an extension of OODBMS according to ODMG 3. It provides a number of enhanced features based on natural language analysis. Applications are developed by using ODABA/ODE with CASE and RAD technologies.

ODABA is under opensource-license. It follows object-oriented ideas of NoSQL. Special benefits result when using it on strongly networked structures. You see these structures among

  • categoy-systems (eg. statistics)
  • business- or social relationships (eg. social networks)
The vendor claims substantial speedup at linking-depths greater 3 - compared to traditional relational concepts. He is not part of the Oracle-empire.
Associated Development-Tools (ODE) support model-oriented development-style. By clarification and formalization of terms from the user-domain a data-model arises. That can be used to generate the base-version of an Application. Work-Hours (and Cost) for coding the first prototypes are saved. Rapid prototyping becomes possible. Budgets can be used to adapt the Application to practical needs of the User.
